What is Stage and Slate?

Stage and Slate Studios is a supportive private coaching and ensemble class environment for performers to explore and develop their acting skills for stage and on-camera (film, TV, commercial).  Studio creator, Emily Rabinowitz, helps performers build confidence to take risks and make clear choices when auditioning in person as well as on tape.  She challenges actors to discover their own diversity.  Stage and Slate also offers consultation for general industry protocol (contracts, Union information, audition expectations), required materials (headshots, resumes, demo reels), and suggestions for career development.  The studio offers space for taping auditions, shooting headshots, and just hanging with fellow performers.

Every actor needs a way to work with another individual.  Working with a coach is the best way to become creative and confident with material before an audition or performance.  We work together with our students to be prepared for both stage and on-camera auditions.  We want the actor to know his/her character’s intentions when walking into a room with the buyer, administrator, agent, casting director, etc.

In this day and age it is imperative that actors know how to put themselves on tape.  Stage and Slate offers a space to do this correctly.  We can simply provide the location, and services to forward videos, or additionally coach the actor while taping.

Industry Consultation

Do you know what materials you need to pursue a professional acting career?  We will review your resume, consult on headshots, and discuss general industry protocol.  Emily helps guide her students (and parents of students) toward the most effective, and appropriate way to develop a network of contacts within the entertainment industry.
